We are the Great Generation. And we were told some Great Lies.
We were told some GREAT LIES. Then we told these great lies to our children.
We were told to get a college degree.
So we earned an undergraduate degree and an advanced degree. At great expense and effort. As did our adult children. Based on our examples and instructions.
Then we were told to find a good company. Stay with that company and retire well. We then retold and resold these ideas to our children.
More Great Lies
Other great lies we were told. Contribute to Social Security.
We said the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag every morning in school. And we could freely pray before our lunch meal.
We thought we were a part of a lasting and great nation.
We thought we were building a great nation. And a great future for our children and grandchildren.
We believed our nation’s leaders.
We were proud of our leaders.
We believed our leaders.
We heard from our nation’s leaders:
“Ask not what your country can do for you; but rather ask what you can do for your country.” – J F K
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King, Jr
